New Siblings For Me!

Hey everyone! I'm sooo excited to tell you this, FINALLY! I wanted to let you know, that.........ok...are you ready? Drum roll....

We are going to try to adopt!

Yep, yep, yeppity, yep! It's true! I'm soooooooooooooooo excited! We're gonna trust the Lord to open doors for us. We are going to look into China. We checked out South Korea, Colt's birth country, but it's the most expensive out of ALL the countries! And, all the other countries had parent ages maxium to 44. My parents are older than that. China's maximum age is 50-55, depending on the child. We are going to try to get a toddler...about two or so. I'm so superly excited! We're just praying everything works out, and that we get the child really, really, REALLY soon. We've sent for some applications.

Also, My big sister from the dance party I went to Saturday night is awesome! Her name is Frankie! She's a junior. They gave us little sisters an "answer", and the big sisters, a "question". She came by with her friend in front, Cheyenne. Cheyenne asked me what my answer was. I told her it was Odette. "What? Hey Frankie! Come here and listen to Joy's answer!" I said, "Don't you know who that is? It's the lead character in Swan Lake!" Cheyenne said, "Frankie!". Then Frankie said, "Oh my gosh! You're my little sister!" And that was that! She's awesome! I love her like a real big sister!

And that's it! Thanks for stopping by.

Late Faithful Fridays Post

Hello Bloggin buds! I know I'm a little late......sorry! We're bustling around getting ready for my dance party tonight. We have to bring a gift for my "big sis", which we just completed. It's probably going to be the best gift a little sis could give, because Ms. L just said candy, but, mom went all out. We got Starburst, M & M's, Skittles, a five dollar gift card to Wendys, Mt. Dew, and Reese's Cups. I'm soo excited!

For this Faithful Friday, I'm thankful that my cousin, Trey, got out of the hospital. A few weeks ago, he had his appendix taken out, and he had to stay in the hospital. Finally he got out a week or so ago. Then, a few days ago, his parents took him to the emergency room, and they admitted him into the hospital, AGAIN! He just got out yesterday. All the doctors were saying different things...but he got to go home anyway. They have bad doctors. ;) My Aunt Missy, Trey's mom, was in that same hospital from a tick bite, and they kept flip-flopping around...so wishy washy! Well, anyway, we're still praying for Trey. But we're glad he's doing ok, and that he got out of the hospital. He won't be able to get out of the house for awhile, but he's got his wife, Shauna there with him.

If you particpated in Faithful Fridays, let me know in your comment, and I'll stop by and check it out.

God bless!

Lookey What I Got!!!!!

Lookey what I got!  My sweet penpal, Julianna, sent me this in the mail.  Thank you so much, Julianna! Do you see what it is?  It's a mini paper bag scrapbook!!!!  It has all the coolest little pull-outs and tags!

Her sister, Emmy Sue, has a blog, and she put one of these on as a giveaway.  And today, a package arrived from Julianna.  I was sooo excited and mom guessed what it was right away, by the way it felt in the envelope.  I opened it, and there, mom was right.  My personalized  paper bag scrapbook!  Thanks again, Julianna!  Her whole family is SOOO crafty!  It's amazing!

I'm going to my first "Welcome Back to Dance Party" this Saturday night!  I'm sooo excited!  I get a big sister/brother from the studio this year!  I hope I get a senior for an "older sibling"!

(Late) Faithful Fridays!

Hi there, my bloggin' buds! I'm so sorry I didn't do Faithful Fridays on time. We were going CRAZY looking for a song to do with my solo. Yes, Ms. T said we couldn't do La Bamba or Stupid Cupid (the first two we suggested). She said a Spanish wouldn't work for reasons she couldn't tell us....Hmmmm.....my mom thinks that we're doing a Spanish theme for our production number. Production is where all the "company" members, Juniorettes(that's me!), Juniors, and Seniors, get together and do one big dance. Like...there is a part where all categories perform one song, then it changes to a different song for each category.....like a medley. It's really cool. And last year, they did a GOSPEL medley! It was called Rocka my Soul, and in one song they "baptized" two little girls from Juniorettes. They'd climb up "stairs" which were really older girls' backs, then they'd fall back and be "babtized"! It was really cool and at the end they made three crosses. It was just awesome. We've played it over and over. LOL And Stupid Cupid wouldn't work because someone my age did a solo to that recently.

Well on with the post.

For this Faithful Friday's post, I'm thankful that we finally found a song that would work. My teacher had said that she would look up the song "Tell me Something I Dont' Know" by Selena Gomez. I believe it's number 3 on my playlist down at the bottom of my sidebar. Well she emailed us back yesterday afternoon while I was on break from school and these were her exact words:

"I looked up Tell me Something I Don't Know. I like it. Very fun. Let's use it."

Mom yelled to me, and we had ourselves a little party! Haha. We were sooo happy. That was like a hundred pounds off our shoulders.

So that's what I'm thankful for. Also, We visited our friend from the Ozarks that has cancer. He's in the hospital. He just had his surgery yesterday. He's not doing very well. He's hurting really bad, but it's not from the surgery. It's from his arthritis. It's in his arms, and for about tenn hours, in the surgery, he had his arms down by his side. So...it really flared it up. He can't even feed himself. But, the surgery DID go well. He's supposed to go home today. Please keep him in your prayers.

Well, that's about it.

If you participated in Faithful Fridays, please let me know in your comment, and I'll stop by. But please comment anyway! I love hearing from you!!

And thanks for all the good song suggestions. They actually led to a lot of ideas.

God bless,
Love, Joy

The First Gym Day of Many

Yep....Tuesday was our first homeschool meeting(or as we like to call it, "Gym Day"). It was sooo fun! I couldn't find the two girls I usually play with, so I raced two boys, Graham and Eli, when I wasn't toting around their little sister, Bella. Isn't she so cute? Here's a pic of their whole family with me, except their mom and dad, of course.

I also played with a little two year old boy named Silas, and his big brother Sam. I raced their six-year old sister, Emma Grace, and she beat me AND the boys!! She a fast little chic!!!! LOL She's super sweet and I look at her as a sister. I LOVE playing with the babies and little kids!

Well.....sorry to make the post so short, but I just wanted to share that. School's going good. Better than I thought it would. I thought that fifth grade would be SUPER hard, but it's not. :) I can't wait until Fall!!!! I wonder what I'll be for Halloween.....Maybe a pirate......Hmmm..what will YOU be?

God bless,
Love, Joy :0)

Help!

I need some blogger opinion. We (my mom and I) get to suggest some songs for my solo, even though the final say will be from my teacher, Ms. T. It would be for Jazz, Tap, or Ballet. I really want to do a Jazz or Ballet, but like I said, Ms. T gets to decide. If it were Jazz, I'd like something REEEEALLY upbeat. Like super fast. Or, I would like some kind of salsa spanish instrumental. I don't think my teacher would want an all spanish song. I'm not imaginging it. LOL For Tap, also upbeat, just a little slower. I'm not THAT good at Tap! Hee hee...:) For a Ballet solo, of course, I want a slow one. I'd prefer a Lyrical, but I'd be okay with just a regular. So if you have any ideas, please tell me in a comment!!! Thanks!!

God Bless!

Faithful Fridays

Hey bloggers!! I'm feeling better today. Thanks for all your prayers!!! Well, today I haven't been outside yet, but it looks really hot. I'm ready for cold weather. Or cooler weather, I should say. I'm not ready for snow yet ;) LOL
For this Faithful Fridays post, I want to share something out there for the other kid bloggers. But of course, this could go for adults, too.

This happened at the church we used to go to. We went on Wednesday nights for classes like Joybelles, Bluebelles, Sonbeams, etc. I think I was Joybelles (how ironic!). LOL I walked into the bathroom and a girl from my class was in one of the stalls making a whole lot of racket. I slowly walked into the next stall and locked the door. "You ok?", I said. She didn't respond but instead her head appeared at the top of the her stall's wall. Ok. Let me stop it right there. I used to do that. Then my parents got onto me, and so did some other grownups. So I stopped. I told the girl that. She said this: "Come on, try it, it's fun. Nobody will ever know." I stopped. I had heard that before. In the Sunday School lessons and the movies. The person gives in, then gets in trouble. I wasn't. I told her that they would know. She gave me a look that could have killed me. "How?" "I don't know. They just will." I thought about it, and then I said, "I'll tell them. I'll tell because we aren't supposed to do that. But if you stop I really won't tell. Come on, stop...you don't wanna get in trouble." I really liked this girl, and I really didn't want her to get in trouble. But then she saw I was serious. And she kept on doing it. I got mad then. "STOP!!" "No." she said. Then I told her I was gonna tell when I got back. Keep in mind I was still in the stall the whole time, and she was, too. She walked out, glaring at me through the hole of the stall. LOL She said, "Whatever", and gave me a mean smile, washed her hands, then you know what she did? She turned the lights out on me and closed the door and left. I was in the dark, alone. I was about to scream, then I thought better. I felt my way out of the stall and over to the lightswitch. I turned it on and washed my hands then went back to class. I didn't want to tell about the girl in front of the class, so I waited until after. Btw, the girl acted like nothing was wrong when I came back in. After class, I told the teacher. She said she'd handle it. She thanked me for telling her, and said if it ever happened again to let her know. I felt good. So that, my friends, is it. The moral is: Don't ever listen to somebody or something if you know in your heart that it's not right. It's probably going to end with you losing someone's trust, and getting in trouble. Or, it might get you, or somebody else hurt. Just listen to God's voice inside you. Don't worry, you'll hear it. And afterwards, you'll feel great knowing you didn't give in to pressure.

I have another story.

I was at a friend's house I hadn't seen in a long time. She and I were going to take turns riding the bike, and I was going first, I was wearing flip-flops. At the time, my dad had told me I wasn't allowed to ride in flip-flops because if I wrecked, as he put it, I'd mess my feet all up and hurt myself or someone else-or both!! :) So.....I had that driven into my mind. I remembered that rule, and I told the girl. She looked puzzled. "But your dad's not here." I was puzzled. "So?" "So who will tell him?" the girl said, pushing the bike toward me. I struggled. I wanted to ride that bike sooo much. I had already tried on the girl's extra shoes and they were too big. I jumbled through my thoughts.....but I kept hearing that voice. "Remember your dad? He'll be disappointed in you, Joy", it said. I love my dad, and I didn't want to disappoint him. I made up my mind. "Who would tell, Joy?" she said. "I would" I said softly. "Huh? But why?" I told her that my dad told me I wasn't supposed too, and I would feel bad and end up telling him even if I did ride the bike with my flip-flops. "Are you sure?" She acted as if she didn't like what I was saying. "Yep." I said. So for the five minutes we played on the bike-LOL-I just ran alongside. And it was fun. :) Moral: Listening to God can also turn out fun.

Thanks for stopping by!!!! I hope you liked it!! Please feel free to use my little button up there at the top and put it at the top of your Faithful Friday's post. If you participated let me know in your comment and I'll stop by to read and comment. Hope you come back!!

Scrappin' in a Book?

Sounds weird, doesn't it? It's really fun!!! Scrapbooking is something my mom and I love to do....together, AND apart. In fact, I love scrapbooking SOOOO much that I had my sixth birthday at our local scrapbooking supply store!! Yep. I don't have any pics of the actual party...sorry!! I think my mom has them somewhere... But, I DO have pics of the scrapbook I made. Each girl's scrapbook had a layout cover like this. Each boy's had camo for the background. But both had pictures of each kid and their name. Click on the pics to make them bigger. (BTW, obviously this is mine...but I was little, so the handwriting may be a bit messy):

Then, my friends that came brought their pictures from things like family photos, vacation pics, etc. The store provided all the rest. The store owner is the only one that works there, so she,(along with the "partygoer"'s parents) helped us out with the messy stuff. And sometimes they had to help the little ones with the cutting. All in all, it was a great party. :) I will ALWAYS remember that birthday! I got my first set of earrings then. Even though I think my cousin KNEW I don't have my ears pierced!!! LOL

Here's a few pages in my scrapbook.(there are a LOT more) Keep in mind only a few of these were added in my scrapbooking party. The rest I added at home over a few years. :)

Here's the first page I did that night.

Here is another layout of me in dance.

Here's some from my eighth birthday party(it was a 50s!! So fun!)

And last, but certainly not least, a page I made shortly after the "Charlotte's Web" play I was a narrator in. I was about eight I think......or about to turn eight.

*********************************************************

Update on-well, our life I guess you'd say! LOL Colt's doing pretty good, he just got a new couch/bed for his room. AND we got a flatscreen TV I think it's a 32" one. It just HAPPENED to go in HIS room, which I don't think is fair at all!!! :) I have a sinus infection. :( I got it I believe Monday night even though I didn't get fever until Tuesday morning. That's when I went to the doctor. Well, I'm feeling quite a bit better now. I'm still a little stuffy and have a teensy weensy tiny winy cough, and a fever every now and then, but I'm not as tired. Yesterday my fever got to 100.6. Eeekk...I felt HORRIBLE!! My head was swimming, I was cold, sleepy, etc. Mom told me she'd lie down with me so she did. It made me go to sleep faster. I napped for about forty minutes and mom got up a little before me. I'm feeling better now. YAY!! Haha Please pray for this girl we know named China. She's a college student. She lives in the dorms at her college and they sent her home with Swine flu. :0 I'm really scared for her. It actually tested negative , but she has all the symptoms. Soooo it's either Swine flu, or regular flu. Either one is dangerous. Please keep her in your prayers. And you know what my "older" brother did (What was he thinking?)? He went to her house to be with her brother!! Yep, and then he came home! I avoided him the WHOLE time. LOL Don't get me wrong, I love 'em, but I just can't take a chance. I already have a sinus infection, and that weakened my immune system. I'd have a BIG chance of getting it! So nope, not going to do anything with Colt for awhile. Just keep my family and I in your prayers if you don't mind because I don't want them catching it and I would like to feel better for dance. Thanks. And speaking of dance.....I'M DOING A SOLO THIS YEAR!!! I'm soooooo excited!!! I'm hoping for Jazz. Wish me luck!!!

God Bless and en"Joy"!!

Faithful Friday!!!!

Hi bloggin' buds!!!! I hope you've had a lovely week!!! Well for this week's Faithful Friday post I want to ask ya'll to pray for me....I'm having stomach problems. Not fun. :(. Please pray I'll get better and feel better real quick. Thanks. I'm happy to say that my Uncle Richard that had prostate cancer had a biopsy done, and the cancer hasn't spread anywhere. We're happy for that. He has a surgery scheduled sometime in September for a prostate removal. Then it won't spread and he will not have any cancer! Yay!! Still keep him in your prayers, though please.

If you participated in Faithful Friday's then let me know in your comment and I'll stop by. Have a blessed weekend!
