Faithful Fridays ~ Discipline is Hard.

Helllooo there, and welcome to Faithful Fridays!  :)

Faithful Fridays is a weekly linky party hosted on my blog.  I made it so that Christians could have one special day out of the week (Friday) to share something from their Christian walk on their blog.  If you'd like to participate, write your post, grab the button from the Faithful Fridays page on my blog (so that it will link back here), and come link up at the bottom of this post!  :)

We go through times in life where things just go wrong.  It may look dark.  You may feel alone and angry and upset and hurt.  You may feel depressed, like it's never going to end.  You may feel like you're just walking in this time where left and right you're making mistakes and doing things wrong.  You may question why God is continuing to let these things go on, even though you're praying about it.

And in that moment, your troubles may seem like a horrible calamity, a tragic mistake.

But God uses these things!  You may not see it now.  But when you look back at this time a couple of years from now, you'll probably realize that this was what God used to grow you tremendously, or to grow someone else through you.  He may use this to show you what His calling for your life is.  God can use these things so much!

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
-Romans 8:28

No discipline or tough growing phase seems good at the time, but we can gain so much from it.  It usually ends up being worth it a hundred times over.  Remember that when you're going through a hard time.

"Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spiritsand live! They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees."
-Hebrews 12:9-12

God bless you guys and have a great day!  :)

Joy,

Another great post! It is so hard to see what is going to come from a dark time or low time, but then when we have walked through in and come out...we can see how we grew from that experience. And I like what we heard in a song yesterday....God meets us in the storm and walks with us through it taking us by the hand. He doesn't always take the storm away. Although He can and sometimes does!

Love you! 10! So glad you do Faithful Fridays!

This is so encouraging and wonderful to read. I think this is one of the biggest parts of having faith... getting through the painful parts of our lives without giving up, because it truly shows that no matter what, we don't lose our hope and our love for the Lord.

I love your point, also, about how hard it is to see that God is using our difficulties in our lives while we're going through them. That is so true and something so worth reminding ourselves of.
I am encouraged by the passage from Hebrews also. Wonderful post!

I was gone (to your home state actually, it was beautiful!) and was sad to miss Faithful Friday this past week, but I hope to link up this Friday! And I just read your comment on last week's I believe it was- thankyou!

Blessings♥
