Faithful Fridays ~ Jesus is IT.

Hello, everyone!  :)  It's time for Faithful Friday!  I wasn't able to do it last week as I was in the hospital...but I'm back, now.  :)

Faithful Fridays is a weekly "meme" hosted on my blog.  I made it so that Christians would have a designated day (Friday) to share something from their Christian walk on their blog.  If you'd like to participate, write your post, grab the Faithful Friday button from my "Faithful Friday" page, and come link up at the bottom of this post!  :)

***************************************************************

If you really read the Bible, you see that Jesus (God) is IT.  There's just no arguing.  We were created by Him.  We were created to serve Him.  We were saved by Him.  We are loved by Him.  We are to follow Him.  We are to try to grow into His likeness--we're supposed to use Him as our "model" for life!  It's all about Him.

"For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities, all things were created by him and for him."

-Colossians 1:16

As years have gone by, we've all become more and more me-centered.  I mean, hello, our phones are called iPhones!

But it all started when Eve first, then Adam, thought of themselves and what they could gain by eating the fruit God had forbidden, and then when Eve blamed Adam to get herself off easy, and Adam blamed the devil.  It was all starting....selfishness as a result of sin.

But we're Christians!  We're not supposed to be like this, are we?  We're supposed to be the perfect saints that sit in our church pews and drop money in the Salvation Army bucket outside the grocery store.  We're supposed to be balanced.  And good.

Right?

Well, no.

Because while we are supposed to be replicating Jesus, we aren't expected to be perfect.

And in the process of trying to be perfect and cover up our problems, we've come up with our rituals and legalistic church structures, and we've lost the true essence of being a Christian.  We're acting like perfect people, but inside we still have this hurt and selfishness and pride and grudge.  The whole church idea has become so different from what it originally was.

Church used to be a people, not a place.  It's a group of people that encourage each other and really love each other and love others, not a society that secretly gossips and is only nice to so-and-so because they have to be.  We have our committees and youth groups and Sunday schools and praise and worship band and we've lost the focus....we've lost Jesus.

We as Christians need to make a change.  Turn back to what church is supposed to be.  Make everything all about JESUS.

If it's not all about Him, it's worthless and pointless.

We need to drop the routines, the old usual familiar stuff, the legalism, the rituals, the "cool" factor, the selfishness....and just make everything all about Jesus.  Because Jesus is IT.

God bless you and have a great day!
