Faithful Fridays ~ The Ultimate Journal

Hi everyone!  It's Friday again!  That means it's time for Faithful Fridays!  But you know what?  I got another post in between this Friday and last Friday.  Aren't you proud of me?  :)  I really am going to try to boost up my blog posts.  And a giveaway might just be in order once I get 200 followers.  :)  Think we can do it?!

On with today's post...

I started Faithful Fridays so that Christians could have one designated day a week (although I don't think they should keep it to just one day) to share something about their Faith--a prayer request, answered prayer, Bible verse, something God's laid on your heart, etc. To participate in Faithful Fridays, just grab the button above for your post along with a link to my blog somewhere in your post, too. After you've published your post, please come and leave a comment with a link to your blog letting me know you participated! After I see you've participated a few times, I will add you to this list of regular Faithful Friday-ers!

My mama participates on her blog, Country Girl at Home...

Ms. Patty participates on her blog, Blessings Beyond...

Ms. Retha participates on her blog, Retha's Rambles...

and Rachel participates on her blog, Stand out Don't Fit In.

                                           ~*~
How many of you guys journal?  No matter how little or how much you do it, it can be fun, helpful, stress-relieving, and a great place to vent.  :)  I've recently taken it up more recently.  Hobby Lobby sells these leather journals that are completely blank.  No lines, just beautiful, thick, blank paper.  Journals are great for improving writing skills, and just getting our thoughts sorted out, right?  We can just tell everything that happened throughout the whole day and go to sleep with a sort of closure.  I mean, we write things in our journals that we would probably never say out loud, am I right?

I had been thinking about all this and about how I loved journaling when I opened my devotional book, Jesus Calling (For Kids) by Sarah Young.  The Jesus Calling devotionals, in case you don't know, are written as if Jesus is speaking directly to you.  The date was April 1st--yes, April Fool's Day--and this was what I read:

Yes, Everything.**

Pray continually.
-1 Thessalonians 5:17

I am waiting to hear from you.  Tell Me about every detail of your day.  I want to know what happened at home and at school, and how you felt about it.  The big stuff, the little stuff, even the crazy stuff that you just don't understand.  I want to be that best Friend that you just can't wait to talk to.

Remember, I don't expect you to do everything perfectly.  What I do expect is that you will come to Me in prayer about everything--yes, everything--that happens in your life.  The good stuff, the bad stuff, the stuff you woudl never tell anyone else.

A great day is not just one in which everything goes your way.  A truly great day is one in which you stay in touch with Me.  Talk to Me, and My Spirit will guide you every minute, every step of the way.

                                                  ~*~

**Please note that everything from the title "Yes, Everything" to the "~*~" was copied from Sarah Young's Jesus Calling Devotional for Kids--it is her material.

So, in other words, Jesus is to be our Ultimate Journal.  The One we tell everything to, things we wouldn't say out loud, things that don't seem to matter, the things that do seem to matter and are weighing heavy on us, everything!  Until a few days ago, I guess I didn't really do that because I figured that God already knew everything (which He does), and there was no reason to tell it to Him all over again.  But there is, because that is the way we grow our relationship with Him, just like we grow a friendship by talking together, laughing together, and even crying together.

So those are my thoughts for today's Faithful Friday.  I hope it helps you in some way!

Have a great day and God bless you!
Joy :D

I can imagine how God wants us to tell him everything because we, as parents, love it when our children talk to us and confide in us and care enough to tell us every detail. What a sweet thought. And I love what the devotional had to say. I needed to hear that today.

And I know how you love your crisp white pages in a journal to write. And no, I haven't forgotten that you need a new one! :)

I participated in Faithful Friday! :)

I love you! 10!

Hello...This post really filled my heart with joy! Sometimes I don't tell God all the bad things but I eventually take everything to him in prayer. He is always there for me. You keep posting your "Faithful Fridays"...I really enjoy reading what you have to say. God be with you, dear, and I hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter together.
