Faithful Fridays~My Testimony

Hi everyone!

My mom and I are going to try to get back to doing Faithful Fridays...faithfully! :)

This week I'm going to share my testimony.  So here it is!

I thank God that I've got caring, godly, and most importantly CHRISTIAN parents that raise us kids in the Lord to serve Him and love Him with all our hearts.

The weekend before Easter when I was five years old, I told my parents I wanted to ask Jesus into my heart. So they prayed a prayer with me, and I prayed a prayer myself. I remember going through a little period of doubt when I wasn't sure if I really was a Christian. I mean, I was five, and I guess I wasn't sure if I really knew what I was talking about. So Mama prayed with me again and now I'm completely assured.

When I got baptized, I was baptized with my best friend outside the family, Katie Beth. We both sang a song and said a little bit at the beginning, and then we were baptized.

For a while I didn't really act like a Christian. Now I'm trying to do better on that.

The only way to get to Heaven is by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. You can't get Salvation by being good, going to church, or even obeying God's laws alone. To know that you have Salvation, you are going to Heaven when you die, and you are a Christian, you have to do what Romans 10:9 says:

"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Once you do that, you cannot backslide out of it. It's like it is with earthly parents and children. Just because the child (Christians) acts up and disobeys (sins), that doesn't mean that the parents (God) are going to disown the child or throw them out. God's not going to let us, if we have already asked Him into our heart, go to hell just because we slip up and sin. If you're really a Christian, you won't go on living like you did before you were a Christian. You might mess up sometimes and sin, but if you're a true Christian, you won't sin continually like you did before you became a Christian.

Baptism is just a symbol of you becoming a Christian. You can get saved and and not get baptized and you'll still be a Christian, but you can't get baptized and not ask Jesus into your heart and think you are a Christian. Again, baptism is a symbol. When you go down in the water, it symbolizes your old self washing away, and when you come back up out of the water, it symbolizes you being a new creation. A Christian.

If you have become a Christian already and you are for sure of it, you don't need to ask again. There's no need. You can't become a Christian more than once!

But if you haven't received Jesus into your heart as your Lord and Savior, then you can do so right now. It's as easy as ABC.

A-Admit. Admit that you are a sinner and that you need forgiveness of your sins.

B-Believe. Believe that Jesus Christ, God's Son, died on the cross to save you and everyone else from their sins and was raised from the dead by God after three days.

C-Confess. Confess Jesus Christ as Lord.

Romans 10:9

"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Congratulations! You are now a Christian, and when you die, you will go to Heaven, where there is no pain, no sadness, no anger, no death, and most of all, no sin.

I would suggest you start reading your Bible, perhaps a chapter or so a day. Maybe in Genesis, Romans, or John. And pray.

If you would like to join in Faithful Fridays, save the button (image) at the top of this post and put it at the top of your post!
