Faithful Fridays - Favorite Scriptures

Hi everyone!

This will be a quick post because Mr. Chuck and and Ms. Kim are here visiting us.  Mr. Chuck and Ms. Kim are the couple that adopted their little girl, Shiloh, from Luke's province at the same time we adopted Luke.  We were the only two families there at the time and we became really close friends!  Shiloh is a darling 3 year old little girl (turning four in November).  Mr. Chuck and Ms. Kim also have a beautiful six year old little girl, Dakota.  I tell you, I'm having too much fun doing Dakota and Shiloh's hair, putting perfume and nail polish on them, and dressing them up with jewelry and purses...I think they love it, too!

I started Faithful Fridays so that Christians could have one designated day of the week (although I don't think we should keep it to one day) to share something about our Faith--a prayer request, praise report, something God has laid on your heart, etc.  If you would like to participate in Faithful Fridays, just type up your post and grab the above button for your post.  Please link up to my blog in your post and then, once you have published your post, please come to my blog and let me know in your comment that you participated.

Have you ever come across a verse in the Bible that just sort of jumped out at you?  Maybe something that makes you say, "Wow, that's a really good verse!"  I wanted to share some of my favorite verses with you today.

So God created man in his own image,
   in the image of God he created him;
   male and female he created them.

Genesis 1:27

If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.  Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

James 1:26-27

Sons are a heritage from the LORD,
   children a reward from him.
  Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
   are sons born in one’s youth.
  Blessed is the man
   whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
   when they contend with their enemies in the gate.

Psalms 127:3-5

God sets the lonely in families,
   he leads forth the prisoners with singing;
   but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.

Psalm 68:6

Hello my daughter,

Loved all your scriptures - especially Psalm 127! :)

Didn't we have lots of fun with Mr. Chuck and Ms. Kim and the girls? I hated to see them go! I know having those girls to fix hair and do girly stuff with was so much fun for you!

I love you! 10!
