That Crafty Feeling

Yesterday, I got the crafty feeling. Ya know......where you feel like just crafting something....anything!!! Well, Mom and Dad were asleep, and I was bored (Colt was gone on a youth trip). I thought of all the things I could do to be crafty....sew, crochet, paint, draw, sculpt, ect. Then all the sudden, DING!!!!!! I can make jewelry from the kit my friend, Christina, gave me!!!! So, I sat down to work. Here is the kit before I ripped into it like Christmas (Wink):

Second layer of wrapping paper.....=D.....

I made a bracelet. Here it is:

My Mom got up just as I was finishing it and told me that she and I had to fold some clothes for Colt because she promised him that she would keep the laundry caught up while he was gone. I told her I would take care of the clothes so that she could make a bracelet. At first, she was telling me no, there was a whole dryer full of clothes, but then.....with my cute face on (and a little persistance), I told her I could take care of it and for her to sit, and make. So, she did, and when I was almost done with the clothes, she came in with this little beauty, and she told me it was her gift to me. Thanks, Mom! Love ya! Here it is:

Mexican Girl Diary-Day 5

Feb. 28. 1781

Hola. We are near the end of our journey. We have 1 month exactly until we get to California. And Papa` said that maybe, just maybe, we can get there before that. But, he also said we can't get our hopes up. We just have to pray. The roads are muddy. There has been many rain storms. One of the wagons that had a married couple in it fell into the river when we where crossing the unsturdy bridge. I'm sad for thier families. We are supposed to get there on March 28th, 1781. Hopefully. I pray the rest of our journey will be safe.

Until then,
Amaya

What I Collect

Hey Ya'll! I thought I'd share with you what I collect.....dolls. I have soooo many! I'll just show you a few of my favorites!!! Here goes!

This is one of my most favorite dolls. My Uncle Richie went on a mission trip to Honduras and he brought me and my little cousin, Laci, a doll from there....he must of known what he was doing! I had really been hoping he would bring me one!!! =D He also brought my mom and grandmamma and I think my Aunt Missy a little trinket box that had flowers on it and said "Honduras". He brought my dad and pop a sword and my brother a guitar pick holder that was a wooden jigsaw sort of thing. Anyway, I named her Yearly (Your-a-ly), after the girl we sponsor through a group called Compassion. She also lives in Honduras.

Ok, I'm going to take the challenge. I'm going to name all of the dolls on this shelf. Here we go!

Ok, of the girls that are actually ON the shelf, there are (left to right)....

Tiffany, Teresa, Dorothy, Paige is sitting down between Dorothy and the next doll, Brooke, Mary, Emily, Clara, and Rebecca.

Of the girls that are behind the quilt there are (left to right)...

Kathy, Grace, and Virginia.

Mexican Girl Diary-Day 4

Febuary 20th. 1781

Hola. The village men have buried Maria`'s brother. Maria` is alright, but, her family isn't. Her Mama` is getting sicker from grief by the minute, her Papa` always putting his head in his hands. My brother is alright. He is back to normal. The Senora`'s know what caused the boys to get sick. Hemlock. It's horrible. It looks like a good plant, but inside, or rather, on the bottom (the roots) there is an evilness........An evilness that can kill you.....Just like it killed Pompo. Anyway, we are getting closer and closer to California everyday. But it seems like it has taken forever. I will write whenever I can.

Until then,
Amaya

Mexican Girl Diary-Day 3.

Feb. 8th 1781

Hola. We have been on this long hard trip a long time. Today Maria`'s brother died. My brother is in terrible pain, but, The Elder Senora`, Senora Malita says he will be alright. Maria hasn't been seen since the news came to me and her when we were playing in the wagon circle. She ran fast to see him, but, it was too late. Her mother was seen by Senora` Malita and she said she was crying as hard as any amgio could cry. I feel sorry for her and her family, especially Maria`'s Papa`. Pompo was his only son. He will never be the same, I fear. Today some of our mules escaped. We used to have four but now we have 2. I don't know what will happen if they get loose. Our wagon will break, I fear. Mama`'s loaded so much furniture. I will let you know what happens tomorrow, if possible. I don't know. Mama` may have me help her.

Until next time,
Amaya

Mexican Girl Diary-Day 2

Febuary 3rd, 1781

Hola again. We are on our way. No bad happenings have come to us yet....but I fear that my little brother and Maria`'s little brother may be coming down with a fever. They have taken rest in the wagons after exploring the camp. They tried to tell us that they were well...but...they are not. Everybody knows it. Mama` has gone to get an elder Senora` to help. But other than that everyone is fine. But that doesn't mean anything. Papa` was talking to Mama` last night when I was still awake and he talked of trouble in crossing the creek. I will pray consistently.

God bless,
Amaya

Mexican Girl Diary

My mom gave me an assignment (well, the big Sonlight book said to). I have to imagine that I'm a Mexican girl traveling to California in the year 1781. Here goes!

Febuary 2nd, 1781.

Hola. I am a 10 year old Mexican Nina`. My name is Amaya. Today twelve Mexican families-23 men and women and 21 children-are leaving Alamos, Mexico. Today is also my birthday. My Papa`, my Mama`, and my 4 year old brother are going to California. The trip will be hard, the voyage long. But my family is strong. My Papa` knows many things. But I will miss the families who are staying behind. My best amigo, Maria`, her Papa`, Mama`, and 4 year old brother are coming though!!!! We will have best of times! Well, Mama` is calling to me. We are still loading because Mama` is bringing her furniture with her as most Senora`s are not. I have to help. But, before I leave I want to show you my doll that I am bringing for company. Her name is Rosita`. I named her after the wisest woman in Alamos, Senorita` Rosita. Here she is:

Until tomorrow,

Chuck E. Cheese's

Saturday, my mom and dad took me to Chuck E. Cheese's. It was really fun. I had a feeling that day that we would either see my friend Christina, or a friend at my church. I was right. We saw Christina. Here we are:

I was really suprised when I walked in. They had a lot of new stuff. Here I am at a new game, the Chuck Wheel (or else that's what I called it):

Here I am in the playground:

And, of course, me and my prizes (I got 130 tickets)!

Cool Pix

Hey y'all! I just wanted to share with you the digital camera that my mom and dad got me for my birthday. It is my size and it's a beautiful dark red. Here it is.

After searching all the stores, store websites, and all that stuff, they had no luck finding it. Then, they found a website called NewEgg. They ordered it there on Saturday. I received it on Thursday. Mom said, Joy, it's either your camera or your sparring helmet. I took one look at the box and said, Mom....that's not big enough for a helmet! =D

I tore in to it and right away started taking pictures. Here are a few:

My mom asked me what I liked about my new camera...soo....here's what I said: I like it's color. They also had it in blue, but, I liked the red better. I like how it's sized just right for me. I can hardly hold my mom's big ole' camera. Hee hee. It's perfect for me! I like how it came with every thing...I didn't have to buy anything...and so far, it hasn't messed up a single bit. Tell me if you think it shoots good. En"Joy"!

My Family

I was just thinking...hmmm...since my family is so awesome-ly-awesome I want to share them with you!

This is my Mom and Dad. My mom gives piano lessons and sells Mary Kay and is a crafter and she also teaches me in homeschooling! And my dad is in Insurance. Here they are.

My brother, Colt, is a college student. He is almost 20. He is very sweet and likes to play video games with me on our Wii. He is really funny and makes me and my family laugh all the time! =D Here's a pic of me and him.

Ok....I decided that since I was telling a bit about my family, I'd tell some about me. I am 10 years old. I am in 4th grade. I do dance, taekwondo, and my mom teaches me songs on the piano here and there(I just learned "Heart and Soul"). I love to be with little kids and babies and I want 6 kids when I grow up. Thanks for being an awesome family, to Mom, Dad, and Colt. I love ya!!!

My Room

Hey ya'll. I just thought I'd show you my room. My dad made most of my furniture....the shelves, the desk, the bulletin board, and the shutters. Here is a overall view of my room.

Here's my shelf and shelf-quilt hanger. On the bottom shelf there are my American Girl dolls mostly, and on the top quilt-hanger shelf are my porcelain dolls and Great-Grandma's quilt. I think it is sooo pretty!

My door has a Jonas Brother calendar that I got for Christmas and a poster that my mom made for me that has my name on it.

My chandelier. I got it when I was 6 years old for Christmas. It has pretty roses on it.

My desk-dresser-closet view:

My bulletin board has a paper that says "Doodles by Joy" and a pic of a little boy at our homeschool group that I helped make smile for his school pics. =D

My dresser. I just really love this. We got it when I was little from one of my mom's friends.

A Personification: Piano

Personification means to make alive..to give it human thoughts and things like that. In ENGLISH that means that if I'm doing a personification about the piano in our living room, I try to think about what it thinks when I play it, or when it's closed or is serving as the lesson piano for my mom's students. So, here goes...

A PERSONIFICATION BY JOY: THE PIANO.

Hi, my name is Huntington. I'm a piano.

I'm going to tell you about last night around 9:18 exactly. My people came in, but only three of them: the woman, the man, and the short girl. The little girl went and got in her PJs. She came and she looked at me. Then she played me. She is very sweet. I'm glad that when she plays me, she doesn't bang on my keys. That really hurts. It makes me throb. She is very gentle. She does tickle me sometimes too!

She played "Heart and Soul", "Chopsticks", "Tuck Everlasting", and another song that doesn't have a name. Then she closed me again. I hope she plays me again.

My keys need to be checked. I noticed I'm sounding off tune. Oh, no....I almost forgot. The piano doctor is out of town. Hmmm...maybe I can fix myself...Hmmm...

I hope she comes back really, really, REALLY soon. I get lonely without her. My first person, The Woman, has had me since she was a little short girl. She has passed me on to her little short girl. Thanks for listening. Hope you come back!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

That was the title of my recent b-day party. Today is my birthday, Groundhogs Day!
Saturday we picked up my friends, Molly Grace, Katie, Kasey, and Kim. We got them all at about 10:40 or so and headed to our awesome-ley cool Mcdonalds(it has video games at the table!)

Then we headed to the nursing home to see some of my friends there. Here we are in front of the nursing home.

From there we went to my house. First we made our crafts. We painted the letters that start our name and we made door hangers for our room. It was really fun! Here we are, hard at work.

We played Twister after that. We got all twisted together just like the game's motto, "The game that ties you up in knots"! LOL! Here we are, all tangled up, but still smiling! We played hide-and-go-seek, but, I don't have any pics. Sorry.

Then we were all hungry, so, we headed to the kitchen to enjoy my cupcake-cake. It was really cute. It had blue and green cupcakes in the shape of a 10. Here I am blowing the candles out.

After that, I wanted to go open my presents =D ;) so Mom numbered them and I guessed. Here I am with some of my presents.

Then we watched the movie. This is what we watched.

Here we are watching...

Here we are at the very end, showing off our crafts. Silly like.

I asked the girls to line up and then I hugged and picked up each girl...hee hee..

And on the way home....JONAS BROS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
